Merel Ritsma is a seasoned finance professional with over 30 years of experience across both the corporate and NGO sectors. As a Supervisory Board member of Mama Cash, she brings a comprehensive expertise in financial strategy, governance, operational excellence, and risk management.
Merel holds a BSc in Operational Research from the University of Kent (UK), a Business master’s degree from the University of Lyon Business School (France), and a master’s degree in Economics from the College of Europe (Belgium).
A passionate advocate for social justice, Merel has long been dedicated to advancing the rights of the feminist and intersex communities, tirelessly working to foster equality and inclusion. She blends her strong financial acumen with a deep commitment to activism, ensuring that Mama Cash remains a powerful force in promoting women’s and LGBTQI+ rights worldwide.
Originally from the Netherlands, Merel currently resides in Amsterdam.
